How to work with me

My services are priced at a base rate of $75/hr plus the cost of materials unless otherwise noted or negotiated. Please note that for now, I am focusing my in-person work on Takoma, DC/MD and the surrounding communities, but welcome remote consultations and regional travel. Send me an email with a rough description of who you are and what your idea is and we will set up a free 30 minute consultation to discuss the scope of work. I will create an invoice for you to review, approve and then we can get started.

What work can the Tinkery support?

Tinkering can be many things: a second pair of hands for a project you've already started, design support for an odd problem, or a drafting process for something new. If you're in doubt, just ask! As a bit of extra inpsiration, here are some examples of projects I am keen on lately:

~ Commissioned pieces! Do you want me to help you produce a show, large piece, flashmob, or some other wacky thing? I've helped bring together everything from guerilla theater performaces to parade groups. Let's hear your vision, maybe I can help you make a splash!

~ Project Pawpaw: Have you heard of pawpaws? The hardy and tasty fruit-bearing trees once common throughout the eastern US? Want one in your backyard, office, or wherever? Ask me about purchasing a seedling or learning how to sprout your own!

~ Bamboo craft: Are you bamboozled by bamboo? Want to carve it into a spoon? Perhaps a pen? A windchime? Or something new? Well, me too. Let's do!

~ Ask an LLM (lovable living monster): Do you have a question? Don't use artificial intelligence, ask me, and I will deliver a thoughtfully researched and possibly funny reply (via puppet).
